Ok I’m just going to state the obvious to start things off – wow it’s hot today! If you’re in Australia, the chances are you’re also melting like me. Now if only I’d had the foresight to make it down to Bondi or Manly for a dip. I hope you’ve got plenty of sunscreen happening and a wide brimmed hat, it’s fierce outside. I’m about ready to call time-out on the screen time for the afternoon (I’ve been busy working on the Hope For Nannies program – coming soon)! To cool off, I’m thinking it’s time I had a remake of this plush little frozen iced-fruit treat I made recently for Care Academy. You can see it here. Then I’m going to set myself up with a book on the balcony and unwind after a very busy week in the nanny life.
But before I shoot off, I wanted to cross over to America for a quick chat with Brittney Schering (who you’ve already met in our regular nanny spotlight feature here). Brittney is working on a project at the moment that I’d loved to share with the international nanny community.
Established in April 2014, Not Your Average Nanny Magazine is an international boutique childcare publication coming out of the U.S by founder and editor-in-chief Brittney Schering. It’s a publication catered to families who employ nannies, with works contributed by nannies. Like most new start-up businesses, the magazine is self-funded.
For the month of November Brittney Schering is running a “thankful” campaign to raise much needed funds to direct back into the growth and progression of NYAN Magazine. And to do this, they’re selling t-shirts! Editor-in-chief Brittney says, the way we see it is simple. Directed towards nannies & families – “We’ve got your back, please wear us on yours!” The future is bright for NYAN Mag.
