Well hello there. I have compiled a list of all the questions I’m asked most often into the one place. I hope you find what you’re looking for. If not, please email me (I read all my emails).
Is NANNY SHECANDO an agency?
No. Hope For Nannies & NANNY SHECANDO is not a placement agency, nor a nanny or temp agency. Whilst I have close contacts with many agencies, both in Australia and the United States, neither myself nor my nanny coaching services are affiliated with any one agency.
Why do I see agency logos on your website?
You may at times see agency logos in the sidebar. These agencies have paid to receive advertisement. You may also see occasional works published on the blog that have appeared elsewhere (particularly agency blogs and websites). NANNY SHECANDO has had the pleasure of guest writing for a number of international sites. See full Terms & Conditions, Advertising Policies + Press Details.
Have you always been a nanny?
No! My career started out in hospitality at the age of 14. I began to nanny whilst I was studying at university because of the great flexibility of hours – plus I realised just how much I loved working with kids. You can find the full story here.
How old are you?
Born in 1991, I’m in my early 20’s. Day-to-day activities in the nanny life however, I dance the fine line between responsible care giver and carefree child. I call it “peter pan syndrome”. Yes, it’s a thing.
How do you stay inspired in the nanny life with a blog and a business?
Pinterest! No seriously, it’s a black hole of time. But oh so creatively inspiring.
I want to be featured in the Nanny Spotlight Column
Awesome! Fill out this Nanny Spotlight Starter Pack and email to hope(at)nannyshecando(dot)com with the subject line “NANNY SPOTLIGHT”. You don’t have to have a blog, website, or business to participate.

I’m always happy to accept new, previously unpublished content to feature. A brief synopsis of NANNY SHECANDO audience + guidelines can be found here. Please email hope(at)nannyshecando(dot)com with subject line “BLOG CONTRIBUTOR” and outline your proposal. Make sure you include a link to your blog, business or website, or a sample of your work.
>Resumé Reboot + Hope For Nannies
Can I be employed by an agency & enrol in the Hope For Nannies program?
Yes! HFN is about supporting the international nanny industry – all may participate and benefit. Note: I cannot speak for the individual agency. If you feel that your agency might consider it to be a conflict of interest, please speak with your agency prior to registering for Hope For Nannies.
Do I have to be in Australia to enrol?
No! Resumé Reboot is a 21 day e-course “digital product”. You may access from international locations providing you have internet access, an accessible email address, and a PDF reader. For international purchase rates + programs other than Australia – please email hope(at)nannyshecando(dot)com with subject line “HFN GLOBAL”.
