Oh my goodness it’s Friday Fun Day again. The days have just flown by. You’ll be happy to know that we here at Nanny Shecando face the same challenges as you in fighting to fit more into less. Seriously, where did the week go? Even though I feel as if I barely made a dent on my to-do list, instead I think it probably got longer, we did manage to slow down a little for our beloved Friday Fun Days.
On the menu today was these delicious gooey chocolate brownies and some happy fun french lessons. Let me just say, j’adore le chocolate brownies! Miss Charlie is having a weekend-long play date at her friend’s house so I decided that a batch of decadent chocolate heaven in the form of these addictive little squares of chocolatey goodness (yes I just made that word up) would be the perfect thing for her to take along. So we got messy with the best ever excuse to eat chocolate (and brownies)! Who’s with me on this?

Plus, contrary to popular baking methods in where accuracy is key, I’m often more of an ‘oh just throw it in type cook’. Meaning 200g of chocolate buttons easily becomes 300g, and with a few taste tests along the way. It only makes the end product even better right? You can get the recipe here. So I think I really upped the bad #nannylife stakes by loading Miss6 up on sugar before she arrived at her destination. Oops. And of course the next challenge became resisting them long enough into the evening so that they could arrive safely at their destination for the weekend!

The rest of the afternoon was spent watching TV. Wait, pause, what did I just say? Considering I’m a nanny and its my job to occupy the children to make sure they’re using their time productively, it’s shocking I know. I’ve made my perspective on television and the digital world known before here. But sometimes you’ve just got to slow down and enjoy the moment. As we wandered home from school Miss Charlie honestly said to me that she was ‘so completely very tired and could we please have a break from lessons, just this one time’. And with her puppy dog eyes, how could I possibly stand a chance.
As it was Friday Fun Day and le weekend was right around the corner, I of course relented. In keeping with our theme, our French lesson consisted of the two of us sitting down to watch Madeline en français. It’s a pretty awesome way to learn a little french if you ask me!
Did you love watching Madeline also? Speak any French? How was your Friday Fun Day?

I am seriously making these today! Yes please! Thank you too for stoppping by my blog and for your support!
